Rise Coffee is a specialty coffee roastery and progressive coffee space tucked into Thonglor, built on a straightforward belief: that great coffee should be approachable, fast-paced, and genuinely worth returning to.
The Story
Rise was founded by Kasidis Laoboonmee (Pop), who began roasting coffee as a hobby in his home garage before opening the first Rise Coffee flagship in Bangkok in 2021. The idea was to create a micro-roastery and café that put quality first without making coffee feel inaccessible or intimidating. That philosophy — specialty coffee for everyday people — has driven the brand since, with Rise now roasting for wholesale clients, offering consulting and catering, and shipping beans worldwide, while the café itself remains the clearest expression of what the brand is about.
The Coffee
The menu centres on Rise’s own house-roasted beans, with a rotating selection of single origins and house blends available as espresso, pour-overs, cold brews, and creative signatures. The Dirty Cereal Coffee and the Orange Wafer Latte are two of the more inventive options on the menu — both draw on the same willingness to play with flavour that runs through the wider offer. Baristas are knowledgeable and happy to guide the choice. Prices reflect genuine value for the quality of bean in the cup.
The Space
The Thonglor branch is compact and unfussy — an outdoor courtyard rather than an expansive café interior, which gives it the feel of a local coffee bar rather than a destination venue. It does not try to be a full lunch spot. It tries to be a very good coffee stop, and it succeeds. Wi-Fi is available, and the outdoor format makes it an easy place to arrive with a dog.
