Tavy’s Home — Dog-Friendly Café & Wooden Garden House in Bang Chak

Bang Chak has a genuinely good dog-friendly café tucked down one of its quieter residential sois, and Tavy’s Home is the kind of place that earns a regular visit. The address is Sukhumvit 97/1 — close enough to BTS Bang Chak to walk, far enough down the soi to feel like a different city entirely. What greets you on arrival is not a shopfront but a 65-year-old wooden house sitting inside a generous, shaded garden. For dogs, that first impression tends to matter.

The Garden Is the Thing

The outdoor space here is legitimately spacious. Mature trees cast real shade across a well-kept lawn, and there is room for dogs to settle, move around, and simply exist without being squeezed between tables. The café identifies as pet-friendly in its own words — their Instagram highlights are named Paw friend and Me & Thee — and the atmosphere reflects that. This is not a venue that tolerates dogs as an afterthought. While some pet-friendly spots in Bangkok keep animals firmly to one corner of the terrace, Tavy’s Home feels designed around the idea of sharing the space comfortably.

Beyond the garden, the wooden house itself draws you in. The structure spans two storeys, wrapped in glass panels that pull natural light into every corner. Inside, the warm timber tones, soft furnishings, and unhurried pace create an atmosphere that genuinely earns the café’s tagline — please make yourself at home. The upstairs opens into a looser, more social arrangement, while the ground floor offers quieter, more tucked-away seating. Both floors stay visually connected to the garden outside, which matters when you have a dog settling in below your chair.

Food, Coffee, and the Right Pace

The menu covers what you want from a full-day café. Coffee anchors the drink list, with house blends that lean medium-roasted — clean, slightly sour, with good body. Cold brew, latte variations, and non-coffee options including herbal teas and fresh juices round things out. Food runs toward pasta and brunch plates. The pesto shrimp spaghetti draws consistent praise, and the carbonara is equally well-regarded — portions are generous enough that this works as a proper meal, not just a snack stop. Baked goods and cakes round out the counter offering, and the overall price point sits accessibly around ฿200–300 per person.

Then there is the pacing, which is arguably the most dog-friendly quality of all. Tavy’s Home operates with a relaxed rhythm that encourages guests to stay. The staff move accordingly. As a result, an afternoon here rarely feels rushed — there is no pressure to turn the table, no background noise pushing the energy upward. For dogs who need time to settle into a space, that slower tempo makes a real difference. Moreover, the free on-site parking removes one more logistical complication for those coming with larger dogs or extra kit.

This is a café that sits quietly in its neighborhood and lets word of mouth do the work. Among dog owners in the eastern Sukhumvit stretch, it has earned a steady following — and it is easy to understand why.

Opening hours and pet access policies can change, always check with the venue before visiting with your dog.
