Glig Cafe — Dog-Friendly Café in Thonglor
Glig Cafe is one of Thonglor’s quieter discoveries — a dog-friendly café tucked down Sukhumvit 49/13, away from the main soi’s rhythm. The outdoor garden area welcomes dogs, giving your companion space to settle while you do the same. While the inside glasshouse draws plenty of attention on its own, the garden is where the visit earns its ease. Trees provide natural shade, and the pace here is unhurried enough that both you and your dog can genuinely decompress.
The name carries something of a philosophy. GLIG stands for “Good Luck I Guess,” a phrase the founders translated into a four-leaf clover logo — a nod to Japanese symbolism of good fortune. That lightness runs through everything: the branding, the mood, the staff. It doesn’t try too hard. As a result, the café feels more like someone’s considered home than a venue performing hospitality.
A Dog-Friendly Spot Built for Slow Mornings
The building itself is a renovated wooden house wrapped in glass. Large windows flood the interior with natural light, and the two-floor layout means there’s always somewhere that feels right — the airy ground floor spilling toward the garden, or the quieter upper level for those who want to disappear into a book. Beyond that, the greenery around the building gives the whole space a softness that’s increasingly rare in this part of the city.
Glig’s menu reads confidently without overreaching. The house-blend coffee is smooth and consistent. Matcha appears in several forms, including in their cream puffs — a signature item that regulars return for. The Thai milk tea slushie has its own following. Equally worth attention are the scones and croissants, baked in small batches and best caught early in the day. The menu leans toward beverages and baked goods rather than full meals, which suits the café’s identity well. This is a place for a long coffee, not a three-course lunch.
Parking is available directly in front, which makes visiting with a dog considerably more practical. The café sits roughly a 20-minute walk or a short ride from Phrom Phong BTS — close enough to Thonglor proper that it makes sense as part of a neighbourhood morning, while remaining just far enough off the beaten path to stay genuinely calm. Moreover, the dog-friendly café scene in this area is still growing, and Glig occupies an unhurried corner of it with real grace.
Opening hours and pet access policies can change, always check with the venue before visiting with your dog.
