Benkoff is a tiny espresso bar on Thonglor Soi 9, built around two resident dachshunds and a genuine commitment to great coffee — a combination that has made it one of the most loved small cafés in Bangkok.
The Space
The café fits around eight people at most, occupying a compact corner inside NT Tower on Thong Lo. The interior is olive-green, warm, and vintage-inspired — less a commercial pet space and more a chic living room that happens to have two dachshunds in it. The intimacy is part of the appeal. It is the kind of place where you order at the counter, find a spot, and let the atmosphere do the rest.
The Dogs
Bobby and Billy are the resident dachshunds — and the unofficial mascots, proprietors, and main draw for a significant portion of visitors. They arrive at the café on a schedule (typically around 2pm), which Benkoff posts on its Instagram. Checking before you visit is recommended if meeting them is the point of the trip. When they are in, they wander freely and greet guests on their own terms, which is exactly as it should be.
The Coffee
Benkoff sources quality beans for both house blends and single origins — a detail that sets it apart from most pet cafés, where the animals are usually the main event and the coffee is secondary. The Toffee Koffee — a milk coffee infused with homemade salted caramel, topped with cream and a pretzel — is the signature and consistently praised. The Nut Cracker (medium roast) and dark roast iced Americano are also worth ordering for those who prefer their coffee without embellishment. Homemade pastries and banana muffins round out the food offer.
The Merchandise
Bobby & Friends is the companion merchandise brand born from Benkoff, carrying dachshund-themed clothing, accessories, keychains, hats, and a popular dog blind box series. The shop occupies a corner of the café and is worth browsing — the quality is notably better than typical café merch.
Bringing Your Dog
Benkoff is fully pet-friendly. Given the size of the space, it works best with calmer dogs comfortable in close quarters. The Thonglor Soi 9 area has enough to walk before or after, making a visit easy to fold into a broader neighbourhood outing.
